The Champagne Soiree Fundraiser – Hong Kong

The Champagne Soiree fundraiser at The Soiree Bar in Central, Hong Kong was the first of its kind for LinKenya and helped raise money for the students we sponsor. With champagne flowing and raffle prizes courtesy of Sistar B Bags and Yoga For Life, all guests had a wonderful and worthwhile evening.

Alex and Surinder’s Kenyan Experience
In December 2009, Alex and Surinder our LinKenya volunteers went to visit our sponsored students at Bishop Kigen’s orphanage and College students of Kimalewa. Once there, they distributed clothes, school fees and presents to the children as well as much needed clothes to the villagers of Kimalewa.

This was an opportunity for Alex and Surinder to gain an eye opening hands on experience of life in a third world country. If you would like to do the same, then why not join us on one of our future trips? To get in touch and express your interest, go to the ‘Contacts Page’.

‘Sexy In The City’ – Working it for Africa
LinKenya’s ‘Sexy in The City’ fundraising event was held at Club 97 in Lang Kwai Fong in 2009. Here, much needed funds were raised by lucky dips and auctioning off our very attractive male and female contestants. Not only did the highest bidder get a hot date but everyone enjoyed guilt free partying knowing that their festivities were going to a good cause.

‘Watch My Mate Do a Britney!’
At the same event Mindy raised even more funds by shaving her long locks clean off in an event Ann Marie aptly named ‘Watch My Mate do a Britney’. Party goers looked on in wide eyed amazement as Mindy went from a full head of hair to bald! Luckily she still looked good!

‘Kenya Trip 2006’
2006 was the first time that Ann Marie and Mindy visited Kenya and learnt more about the villagers and school children of Kimalewa and orphans of Eldama Ravine. It was this experience that made the girls determined to develop the charity further.
